I'm interested in any info on them or their ancestors/children. They were my great grandparents.
Richard Anderson "Dick" 1873-1933
Mary Elizabeth Finn Anderson "Lizzie" 1877-1962
Background:
1. They farmed and ranched in the Sycamore area of Vian for many years.
2. They lived in a house with a tall rock foundation, on a road with lots of other Andersons for neighbors. The road is not far from the OLD entrance to the Vian Garden of Memories Cemetary.
3. Their sons Jim and Bob once owned the Anderson Brothers Store in town.
4. I have heard that Dick once killed a man and probably spent time in prison for it.
5. LIZZIE IS MY BRICK WALL!!!! I have searched extensively but cannot locate any written records for her side of the family at all. Her Obituary is all I have to go on:
6. Lizzie was born in 1878 in Oxford, Mississippi to Micheal Finn, an immigrant born in Ireland (but family memory books record his name as Pat Finn).
7. Apparantly he died early on. Her obit said she lived w/ relatives a short time in Arkansas following the death of her father before coming to Vian IT when she was still just a young girl.
8. I have no idea if her mother (Mary or Elizabeth or Mattie) was still alive or not.
9. Lizzie was survived by a sister, Jane Darrington, from Arkansas.
If ANY of this rings a bell I can't wait to hear from you!Thank you in advance,
MH
