Lizzie Ellen and George Thomas
Patton. He passed away June 22, 2009 at
Elk City,
Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Leo grew up in the Leedey and Strong City area attending school at Strong City. After leaving school he entered the United States
Army where he served during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he was married to Edna Mae (
Tillman)
Patton at
Elk City,
Oklahoma on June 15, 1957. Leo and Edna remained in
Elk City where they made their home for the past 52 years. In 1990 Leo retired from the United States Post Office after 27 years of community service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Play Day and being a part of his families lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and
Lizzie Patton, son, Gene Carl
Patton, an infant daughter, Shirley Mae Stone and 5 sisters, Nadine, Helen, Sue, Donna and Treva.
Survivors by his wife, Edna of the home; 4 children, Linda
Lyles and husband, Ronny,
Moore, Oklahoma; and Sonja Marshall and husband, Wesley, Clinton, Oklahoma; and
Darron Patton and wife,
LeAnna,
Elk City, Oklahoma; and Doug
Patton and wife Angela,
Elk City, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Tammy, Teresa, Tiffany, Johnny, and Joshua, Tasha, Krystal, Cody, and
Cooper,
Dalton, Courtney, Chayce and
Braxton, 14 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Leon
Patton and wife Mary,
Ulysses, Kansas; and Ken
Patton and wife Debbie, Cheoctah, Oklahoma; and John
Patton and wife, Cherly,
McAlester, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Velta
Jones and husband, Henry,
Elk City, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held June 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Whinery-Savage
Chapel officiated by Michael
