Gerald "Jake" Sadler was born June 26, 1919 in Clearwater, Kansas to Ehtel and Daniel Salder and passed away September 21, 1997 in the Roger Mills Memorial HOspital at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Gerald was raised in the Durham community and attended school at Sunny Slope, Durham and Crawford. He later went to work in the CCC camps. He returned to Roger Mills and began driving trucks for the local mills. He also worked in the oilfield for a shor time in Texas. He married Olene Putman on June 26, 1976 in Sayre and they lived there until moving to Shamrock, Texas until moving to Cheyenne recently.
He was a member of Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by 3 sisters, Dorothy Reynolds of Owasso, OK, Zelma Widener of Bartlesville, OK and Thelma Baker of Crawford, OK; 5 brothers, Wayne Sadler and Claude Sadler both of Reydon, OK, Dan Sadler of Cheyenne, OK, Eugene Salder of Amarillo, TX and Rex Sadler of Lone Grove, OK; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma officiated by ALL. Martin, and assisted by Jay Eckhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
