The area you describe would be in the Adamson Ok area. it is a small rural community and i doubt if they have any city service you could contact. more than likely the funeral home in Hartshorne handled the burial.their address is Mill's Funeral home103 N. 10th. Hartshorne, OK 74547 Ph# (918) 297-2515
there were some Hancocks living in Haileyville OK Mrs. Hancock married a Larmar after her husband died, she had One son killed during WW11 and another son who still lives his name is Walter. Thanks for the information. I am researching a Mary SA(Mollie)Hancock that married Robert Harvey Wright, Sept.1907, in the Canadian Area. He died in Sept.1926 at Crowder and is buried in Ash Creek Cemetery. After 1928, after the probate was completed, she seems to have disappeared, and we have no info on their youngest child, and very little info on the oldest child. My cousin used to live at Adamson. My parents are from Pittsburg county, but moved to Grady county, where I was raised. I have a very limited knowledge of the area. My cousin lives at Lequire and she is very familiar with areas in Pittsburg and Haskell.
Thanks again for your help

In the 1900 Census I have Hancock for Marlow Oklahoma homestead owners free of mortgage. The names transcribed from the Census are HOH: Millie probably a nickname Hancock, Pearl G. Hancock wife, Melvin Carl son, Maud Ruyle cousin and John Ruyle cousin.. Help

Melvin Carl Hancock was born in Seymour, Baylor, Texas 04 July 1892 and I have him and his own family all the way until his death in Oregon in 1957. But as to his parents and siblings I have not found record.

Pearl was born in Louisiana
Millie was born in Alabama
