I am seeking information on William Edgar Robinson, who was the first sherrif of Okmulgee County and was killed in the line of duty in November 1908. I was contacted some time back by Undersherrif McGuire of the Okmulgee County Sherrif Dept, as he would like to have a memorial service in 2008, in honor of Mr. Robinsons's ultimate sacrifice. Mr. Robinson was born in Howard County, Missouri, and that is why I was contacted.

We are searching for descendants of Mr. Robinson, who was married and had two small children at the time of his death. I located his sister and she was married and had a son who died in the 1960's but he never had children. Mr. Robinson's wife was named "Anna" and her maiden name was CROWLEY.

We would like to have family member(s) at the memorial service and any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Howard County Missouri Genealogical Society

Rece'd your message on the message board posting in response to my search for a Robinson. Your Robinson and mine are not related as far as I know. My Robinson was named Caleb and originated from Arkansas as far as I can tell. He was my gr.grandmother's second husband. Her name was Mary Josephine Wagner Olden. If you come across either of these people in your research, please let me know. Good luck. L. Palmer

Hi, Lillie,

I don't know if you'll receive this or not. We corresponded back in 2000 regarding our Davis and Gossett lines. I'm trying to find time to work on my geneaology again but with moves and a divorce I've lost/misplaced files. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share your Davis & Gossett info again so I can compare it with other information I've been accumulating over the years? I know we had the same lines and you had Otto & Viola (my aunt and uncle) and a number of other relatives in your info. I do hope this reaches you! All the best to you!
