from the Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, 16 Jul 1954, p13:

"EARL LUTHER COUNTRYMAN - Services are pending at Watts funeral home for Earl LUTHER COUNTRYMAN, 72-year-old retired army man who died Wednesday night from coronary thrombosis at Veteran's hospital.

Born in Albany, N.Y., Countryman served as a career army man and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War II (sic). He came to Oklahoma City in 1943 following his retirement from the service in 1926 and made his home at 1732 Pettee.

He was a member of the Methodist church and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Theresa COUNTRYMAN of the home, and a son, Earl COUNTRYMAN, 1100 NW 13."
