Funeral services for Dora Mae Heape, 62, of Bartlesville, who died Sunday, February 11, 2001 at her home will be at Benjamin Funeral Chapel in Nowata on Wednesday, February 14 with Dr. Monty J. Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.

Dora Mae was born in Nowata County on July 14, 1938 to the Reverend Walter Harold and Delia Glenna Sisco Parret. She grew up in Nowata County and received her education in the Armstron, Dewey and Nowata schools, graduating from Nowata High School in 1956. Dora married Robert L. "Bud" Heape on December 22, 1955 at Nowata. They have lived in the Bartlesville area for many years. Mrs. Heape was a retired payroll clerk for Phillips Petroleum Co. She was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Bartlesville.

Mrs. Heape enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Jubilee Quilt Club, the Piecemakers at Bartlesville and Cushing and the the Southeast Kansas Crazy Quilters.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. "Bud" Heape of the home; one son, Robert L. Heape, Jr. and his wife, Mary of McPherson, Kansas; three daughters: Robin McKnight and her husband, Robert of Columbia, South Carolina; Theresa Sanders of Neodesha, Kansas; Cindy Miller and her husband, Chuck of Nowata; her mother, Delia G. Parret of rural Nowata County; one brother, Walter H. Parret, Jr. of Nowata; two sisters: Mable Lee Collier and her husband, Albert of Drumright and Luella Miller and her husband, H.T. "Chief" Miller of Nowata; ten grandchildren: Allen and Jason Pryor; David and Robby McKnight Guy Sanders; Chris, Adam and Lori Miller; Ben Barbosa and Christie Heape; three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, the Reverend Walter H. Parret, Sr.; by one grandson, Curtley Byron Miller; by one brother, Eddie William Parret and a nephew, Harold Dean "Stubby" Parret.
