Graveside services for Betty Jane Patterson, 64, lifetime resident of Delaware, who died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Osage Nursing Home of Nowata were held Friday, March 23 in the Spavinaw Strang Cemetery near Spavinaw. Ben Killion officiated and interment was under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.

Betty began this life on June 2, 1936 in Lenapah and received her education in the Lenapah School. She lived nearly all of her life in the Delaware area. Her hobbies included working puzzles and playing cards.

She is survived by one daughter: Johnnie Fauvergue and her husband, John of Independence, Kansas; by one sister: Billy Jean Shimizu of Magalia, California; by other relatives and her friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Beckie Patterson Valine on December 9, 1997.
