Graveside services for Winnie L. Sorrels, 81, resident of Nowata who died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in the Osage Nursing Home, were held Friday, March 16 in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.

Winnie was born January 26, 1920 at Pawhuska to Joe and Jessie C. Hooper Smith. She formerly lived in Tulsa and moved to Nowata in 1964. She and Albert G. Sorrels were married on December 9, 1942. Mr. Sorrels preceded her in death on February 4, 1984.

Survivors include one daughter, Selena Sorrels of Bartlesville; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Sorrels may do so to the 10-33 Emergency Team at 321 E. Cherokee in Nowata.
