Alford, 34, of
Kansas City,
Kansas, who died Saturday, February 3, 2001 in
Kansas City, were held Saturday, February 10 at Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial
Chapel in
Kansas City with the Reverend Sylvia A. Harris, pastor
Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church,
Kansas City,
Kansas presiding assisted by the Reverends, Aldolphus Favors, H.T. Cunningham and Willie C. Payne.
Pam was born May 13, 1966 in
Kansas City,
Missouri to Glenda and Nathaniel
Alford. She graduated from
Wyandotte High School in 1984. Later she graduated from KU at Lawrence,
Kansas and pursued other educational endeavors. Ms. Alford was employed as a substance abuse counselor at Johnson County Rehabilitation Service, KMADT Treatment Center and as the HIV
Aids educator for the State of
Kansas. Her recent employment was with Providence Medical Center and
Kansas City Board of Education.
Her life was dedicated to rehabilitating the fallen and giving hope to the lost and straying. Pam lived with the scripture, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me." Pam was a member of
Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church in
Kansas City,
Kansas where she served as a member of the Young Adult Choir and other organizations.
Ms. Alford is survived by her daughter, Tyonna Nicole
Alford of the home; her father, Nathaniel

Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters: Robin
Longhorn of
Dayton, Ohio and Carliss
Roberts Iwelomen of West
Palm Beach, Florida; five brothers: Rayford Kelly and Morris Kelly, both of
Boston, Massachusetts; Maurice
Alford of
Dayton, Ohio; Victor
Alford of Wichita,
Kansas and Stephen
Alford of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandmother, Velma
Alford Chambers of Nowata; uncles: Henry, Harleen, Willie and
Cordell Alford, all of Nowata; aunts: Fern
Roberts of
Kansas City, Missouri;
Gracie Alford Timon of Taylor, South Carolina; Betty
Kirkendoll and Tella Phillips of
Oklahoma City; Velma
DeSilva of Plano, Texas and Mary
Alford Hubbard of Nowata.
She was preceded in death by her mother, a grandmother and grandfather.
Services were entrusted to Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial
Chapel of
Kansas City,
Kansas.
