Funeral services for Virginia Ilene McIntire, 84 of Nowata who died Friday January 12, 2001 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville were held Sunday, January 14 at Benjamin Funeral Chapel in Nowata with Pastor Ron Hight officiating. Interment followed at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.

Virginia was born at Lebanon, Missouri on May 6, 1916 to Charles and Olga Blaisdell. She grew up at Labuse, Louisiana; moved to Connecticut in 1968 and later to Oklahoma City. In 1990 she moved to Nowata. She was a homemaker and loved gardening. Ms. McIntire attended the Nowata Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include two sons: Charles "Buddy" Blaisdell of Alexandria, Louisiana and Richard Smith of Nowata; a daughter, Billie Ann Craig of Norman; a brother;, Charles Blaisdell of Alexandria, Louisiana and two sisters: Fern of Alexandria and Billie of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Richard Blaisdell and a sister, Nellie Faye Robertson.
