Funeral services for Gerald Albert
Wilson, 92 of Nowata who died Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at his home were held at Hillside Christian Church on Saturday, December 16 with Ben
Killion pastor in charge. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery at Claremore under the direction of Benjamin Funeral
Service of Nowata.
Gerald was born at
Harrison,
Arkansas on May 27, 1908 to Thomas Edward and Martha Rosetta Rose
Wilson. He grew up around
Harrison and received his education there. He attended
Barber School in Kansas City and then moved to Alluwe in 1928 where he barbered until 1938. Mr. Wilson went to work for
Forrest Oil
Corp. where he worked for 34 years until his retirement. He also raised cattle and after he retired from
Forrest did contract pumping. Gerald enjoyed taking care of his yard and helping others.
Mr. Wilson married Willena Marie Meizer on June 10, 1939 at Chelsea, she died November 23, 1990 then he married Pauline
Montgomery on March 4, 1995 in Nowata.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline
Wilson of the home; one son, Eldon
Wilson and his wife, Judith of
Fulton, Missouri; two daughters: Marilyn
Koerner and her husband, Will of Oologah and Linda
Stovall and her husband, Larry of Mannford; one step-daughter: Janet
Cummings and her husband, Larry of
Camden, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Kandace
Wooten and Robin
Schinnerer, both of Sand Springs; Kevin
Koerner of Highlands Ranch, Colorado;
Kerwin Koerner of Owasso; Carmen
Stovall of Norman; Christina
Stovall of
Irving, Texas; Cynthia
Cummings of Little Rock,
Arkansas and Craig
Cummings of
Camden,
Arkansas, and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mable
Kinslow of Colliervill, TN; Ruby Willoughby and her husband Velbert of Claremore and Lena Martin of
Harrison, Arkansas; in addition to his first wife, Mr. Martin* was also preceded in death by his five brothers and three sisters.
The family suggests that friends who wish may remember the 10-33 Emergency Team at 321 E Cherokee in Nowata.
