Mary Alice Jordan Roberts, 96 of Hereford, Texas, who died Sunday, December 3, 2000 in the Hereford Care Center in Hereford were held Tuesday, December 5 in the First Baptist Church in Friona, Texas with the Reverend Leon Talley officiating. Graveside services and interment were held Wednesday, December 6 at the Chelsea Cemetery with the Reverend Claud Tugwell of Amarillo, Texas officiating under the direction of Seaman-Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea.
Mary was born February 15, 1904 in Bushyhead, I.T. and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1923. She married O. Dale Roberts on January 22, 1923 in Alluwe. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Chelsea. Mrs. Roberts lived in Chelsea until 1973 when she moved to Friona, Texas to be near family.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by her daughter, Norma Chisum of Lubbock; a daughter-in-law, Jean Roberts of Friona, Texas; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O. Dale Roberts on November 22, 1971 and a son, Porter on April 12, 1999.
