Mrs. Erma* Lorena Landers, age 92, of Bartlesville, left this life Friday morning, December 8, 2000, at her home.

Emma* Lorena Landers began her life March 5, 1908 in Elk City, Kans. as the daughter of Henry Clay Berentz and Rosa Hitabidel Berentz.

She moved to Nowata County at an early age and received her education in the Nowata Schools. She graduated from Nowata High School in 1926.

She met and later was united in marriage with John Ezra Landers on March 28, 1928 at Delaware, Okla. She and her husband operated the Lnders Grocery in Delaware then moved to Bartlesville in 1945 where they operated Landers Grocery in Bartlesville.

Mr. and Mrs. Landers moved to Bernice on Grand Lake in 1970 and returned to Bartlesville in 1982. She was a Methodist and enjoyed growing flowers, needlepoint, and was an impeccable house keeper.

She is survived by one brother, Paul Berentz of Tulsa; several nieces and nephews, including Norma J. Lupfer of Bartlesville; her special freinds, Bob and Clara Brown of Bartlesville; her long time care giver, Carol Brookshire of Bartlesville; other relatives and her friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, John on June 24, 1982; her parents, Henry Clary and Rosa Berentz; four brothers, Ola, Russell, Cleo and Kenneth Berentz, one sister, Almeda Lupfer; and one nephew Bill Lupfer.

Graveside services were at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata with the Reverend Rick Thayer officiating and interment was under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.

The family suggests that friends who wish may remember the American Cancer Fund.
