Funeral services for Chelsea resident, Walter
Larison, 76, who died Friday, December 1, 2000 at Claremore Regional Hospital, were held Tuesday, December 5 at the First Christian Church in Chelsea with the Reverend Larry
Cox officiating. Burial followed at Winganon Cemetery under the directon of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral
Service.
Walter was born May 8, 1924 in
Delaware to Lemuel L. and
Rosie Wickliff Larison. He was raised in Alluwe and later moved to the Cherokee Central area. He married
Mable Irene
Barnes on February 27, 1948 in Claremore. Walter was a retired oil field worker and farmer and a member of the Nazarene Church in Chelsea.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Stacy
Pope. Walter is survived by his wife,
Mable of the home, daughter, Ellen
Pope and husband Tom of Claremore; sisters: Barbara and Lucille
Harrington, both of Nowata; grandson, Chad
Pope and wife,
Carey of Chelsea and granddaughter-in-law, Delores
Pope of Granite,
Oklahoma.
