Funeral services for Donald Roy
Brady, 70, of Nowata, who died Tuesday, November 28, 2000 as the result of a truck accident west of I-35 on
Oklahoma Hihgway 413 were held Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Hillside Christian Church with Ben
Killion officiating. Interment followed at Nowata Memorial
Park Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral
Service in Nowata.
Don was born at
Norton,
Kansas on August 8, 1930 to Frank and Felicia
Noel Brady. The family moved to Wellsville,
Kansas around 1939, where the family farmed. Don graduated from Wellsville High School in 1948. Don and Phyllis
Gatton were married on December 27, 1950 at Wellsville. They moved to the Nowata area in 1952 where they have lived since. Don did some farming in the 1950s and early 60s, then went into buying and raising cattle. He worked for
Dick Allen at Allen Farm & Ranch Supply for a number of years. He worked some in the oil fields. He has been employed at Nowata Publishing Co. since 1982 as a truck driver. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church in Nowata.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis
Brady of the home; a son, Douglas
Brady and wife, Cindy; a daughter, Janice
Guthrie and husband, Don; six grandchildren, Jolene Hagebusch and her husband, Robert; Charlie
Brady and his wife, Ku; Bobbie Doshier; Krystal Brady; Mike
Guthrie and Samantha Gray; also two great-grandchildren: Kyle and Caitlyn
Brady all of Nowata. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Raymond
Brady and a sister, Wanda
Whan.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers those who wish make memorial donations in Don's name to the 10-33 in Nowata.
