Graveside services for Eugene Shufeldt, 61, of Coffeyville, Kansas who died Friday, November 24, 2000 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, were held Monday November 27 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Eugene was born November 29, 1938 at Pawhuska to Dora Oscar and Macie Cole Shufeldt. As a young child, his family moved to Wann where he attended school. Following his schooling, he worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma.

In 1958, he married Betty Gaskill in Nowata. Folowing their marriege, they made their home in the Wann area. They were later divorced. On March 29, 1966 he married Mary Ann Richey in Medota, California. Following their marriage, they made their home in Valsetz, Oregon, where he worked in the lumber industry. In 1970, they moved to Coffeyville where he worked for Ronison Paker, Levenworth Steel and later as a welder for Watco. Mr. Shufeldt had been in ill health for the past three months. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting with his beagles and fishing. He was a member of the Montgomery County Archery Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of the home; two sons: Charles Shufeldt of LaCenter, Washinton and Earl Shufeldt of South Coffeyville; four daughters: Macie Garr of Caney, Kansas; Lori Johnson of Edna, Kansas; Lisa Vernon of Coffeyvile and Roberta Usher of South Coffeyville; one brother, Ray Shufeldt of Caney, Kansas and eleven grandchildren.

Mr. Shufeldt is preceded in death by one sister, Olove Moore.
