Graveside services for Letha Mitchell, 76, of Caney, Kansas who passed away Thursday, November 30, 2000 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center at Bartlesville were held Monday, December 4 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Graves Funeral Home in Caney.
Letha was born on April 22, 1925 in Turley to Euris Noble and Lottie Pearl Rhodes Daniel. She was raised in Oklahoma City and attended school there. Letha worked in the ship yards during the war. On June 17, 1946 she married Charles Henry Mitchell in California.
Letha is survived by two daughters: Sherri Mitchell of the home and Sandra Erne of Nowata; three grandchildren: Shawna Perkins and Charles Jerger, both of Dallas, Texas and Sarah Erne of Nowata; four great-grandchildren: Dustin, Melissa and Carissa Perkins and Charleston Jerger all of Dallas, Texas; two brothers: Marvin Daniel of Caney and Ernest Daniel of Newport News, Virginia; three sisters: Wanda Shutte of Coffeyville, Kansas; Shirley Howard and Dianna Harp both of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Euris and Lottie Mitchell; her husband, Charles and one daughter, Charlotte Jerger.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association which may be left with Graves Funeral Home, Caney, Kansas.
