Needing clarification on a patent record. What was the required time a family had to live on the property in order to recieve a patent from the government? The patent date is 1908 and the family is listed on the 1900 census but I do know that they did not make the 1893 Run into Noble County (they came in 1899). They are listed as original homesteaders on the map in the Cherokee Strip Museum in Perry.
Are there other records I can look for pertaining to land run participants (for another branch of the family) such as a registry of some kind (I have checked the one online from the Enid library) especially for those making the run from Stillwater?
