John T died in Porum on 10/28/25. He is my husband's (James Everett Williams, Bakersfield CA, 1946) great grandfather. James' grandmother was
John T'a daughter, Basheba Barnes Lawhorn. His mother was Basheba's daughter, Winnie Iona Lawhorn Williams.

Many Barnes family trees show Loftin G Barnes, Sr's parents as Adam Barnes (1705) and Lucy Davis (1728), but every time I trace them back, our family is not on most trees----only the trees if people we are probably related to. Plus, if that couple had continued having children into their 80's, maybe I would have pursued it farther. I continued an extensive search and found what looks to be the correct parentage, with trees showing family continuity in both directions, as well as fitting the time frame better. They are Adam Barnes (1753, Virginia) and Lucy Davis (1753).
