Services for Edward Dale Mims Jr., 91, Sulphur, were held Monday, Dec. 29 at Cowley-Krien Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home.
Edward was born to Edward Dale Mims, Sr. and Isabell Anderson May 18, 1912 in Oklahoma City. He died December 25 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. He married Beatrice Edwards on May 9, 1942 in Sulphur. She preceded him in death June 3, 2002.
He was raised in Oklahoma City and moved to Sulphur in 1980 after retiring from Kraft foods where he lived the remainder of his life. He was Baptist by faith and attended First Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood working and building toys for children. He and Bea enjoyed traveling abroad.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Survivors are one son, Roger Mims and wife, Lynnell, Holdenville; one daughter, Lanita Mims, Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Ryan Mims and Jason Mims and wife, Melissa, both of Holdenville; two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were family members.
