Betty Lucille Birch, 86, of Davis died Nov. 8, 2003, at Burford Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Krien Chapel with Pastor Johnny Beckmon officiating. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur.
Mrs. Birch was born June 25, 1917, in Sulphur to N.A. and Cecil (Truitt) Chadwick. She grew up and attended school at Sulphur. She married Odell Birch in June of 1937, and he preceded her in death in October 1988. They established their first home on what is now known as Chickasaw Trail and lived their entire life there.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Birch and Jerry Birch, both of Davis; a brother, J.C. Chadwick of Davis; two sisters, JoAnn Arms of Davis and Wanda McBee of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Nicki Nowlin, Jerry C. Birch, Kevin Birch and Kelly Birch; five great-grandchildren, D.J., Randi and Scott Nowlin and Tara and Jarrin Birch, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Raymond, Jessie and Jeff Chadwick, and three sisters, Mary Bateman, Eunice Chadwick and Ida Buchanon. Pallbearers were Jerry C. Birch, Kevin Birch, Jarrin Birch, Scott Nowlin, Wendell Nowlin and B.J. Nowlin.
