Faye Shannon,
Davis, were held Wednesday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the First
Baptist Church in
Davis, with
Bro. James Densman,
Bro. Finis
Steelman and
Bro. Troy Taylor officiating. Interment was at the Troy Cemetery in Troy under the direction of the
DeArman Funeral Home, Wynnewood.
Mrs. Shannon was born on November 19, 1946 in
Dallas to Walter and Hazel White. She died January 27 in
Davis.
On October 14, 1966 she married
Clay Shannon.
Mrs. Shannon graduated from Grand
Prairie High School in 1965. In 1978 she received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Education from
Tarleton State University. She later received her masters in education degree from East Central University. She began her teaching in Aquilla,
Texas and moved to
Oklahoma with her family in 1980. She taught in
Davis,
Tipton, Mullhall-Orlando, Wetumka and
Pauls Valley. She spent 12 summers serving on staff at
Falls Creek
Baptist Encampment in
Davis. She was a prayer warrior and a faithful member of the First
Baptist Church of
Davis . She gladly supported her husband in his ministry as pastor and loved each congregation that he served as her own. She enjoyed reading, playing with her cats and most of all, spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was the anticipated birth of her first grandchild.
She is survived by her husband,
Clay Shannon,
Davis, her parents, Walter and Hazel White; three children, Terry, Sheryl and Kyle White; five siblings, Wes White, Margie Kohler, Mary West, Elaine White and Michael White.
