Contact the Arbuckle Historical Society for information on Harry Kelley. I believe that a picture of him is on one of the DVDs showing old Sulphur. The DVDs are $15.00 a piece of two for $25. They are titled Denman Photography DVDs vol. 1 and vol. 2. Someone at the museum will be able to tell you which DVD he is on. There may also be a still photo. As I recall, there are pictures of the hotel on both DVDs. We are getting ready to produce vol 3 and 4, but I don't remember if there are any hotel pictures on those.
Harry Kelley had a pet parrot that rode on his shoulder and was a conversation starter with hotel guests. When people walked down the sidewalk, they could call out and the parrot would answer either from the trees or from one of the hotel windows (I've been told it was both locations.)
There is a new Artesian Hotel owned by the Chickasaw Nation. The exterior architecture is reminiscent of the old hotel.
