howdy --

I am interested in the descendants of tarlton Bull and Sarah Brown (his 2nd wife). They married in Denton Co., Tx after 1880 sometime. After getting married they moved to Eastland Cunty, Texas vor a couple of decates retiring to Murray County, Oklahoma in their latter years.

1920 census Murray Co, Ok

Tarlton Bull, 74 Wisc
Sarah A. Bull 71 Ark
Hattie R., daughter, 34 Tx

Don't know about 1910.

Eastland Co, Tx 1900

Bull, T D 55 Wisc
Sarah A. 44 Ark
Hattie N 17 Tx
Alta D 14 Tx
Robert H 11 Tx
Johnnie J 9 Tx

Years are off but it is the same family. Tarlton applied for a Civil War pension in Eastland Co., Texas which rejected him, but later applied for a Civil War pension in Oklahoma and Oklahoma which him. Texas didn't reject him because he was ot telling the truth, but rather because he appeared to be in good health to them. He had a doctor tho, who witnessed for him, that said he was in bad health. Recods say he was in fought in battles in Texas, Arkansas, and Indian Territory, including Honey Springs and Big Cabin.

Did these Bull's leave any family in Murray County? I ask because Sarah Ann [Brown] Bull (1855 or 1856 - ?) was my great grandma's (Josephine [Brown] Richey 1854, Lawrence Co., Ar-1932 Tillman Co., Ok) next younger sister.

Dad said when he was young he met Tarlton and that he was "a great big man, nearly 7 feet tall." Well I saw Tarlton's Civil War pension application and it said he was 5' 10" tall! :). . . since dad was just a child when he met his great Uncle, well I guess our memories exagerate sometimes.

I live in Altus, Jackson Co., Ok. If any of their family is still in Murray County or nearby, I'd like to hear from them.
