Services for Joy Dean Botchlet, 84, Davis, were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Krien Funeral Chapel in Davis with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born May 23, 1922 in Wewoka to Moss and Anna Francis (Jones) Hanson, she died Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Joy grew up in Wewoka and married Harley Botchlet on August 18, 1951. She performed at area churches and in Branson, Mo., singing mostly gospel songs. She and Harley moved to Davis in 1989 after his retirement to be near family.
Surviving are a son, Jon Scott Peters and his wife, Mary Ann, Davis; two daughters, Rozana Lou Melton and her husband, Bill, Davis and Sally Jenonne Deatherage and her husband, Frank, Oklahoma City; one brother, Marshell Madison Hanson, Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Pallbearers were Mike Melton, Kyle Ingram, Matt Melton, Billy Melton, Mark Melton, Mitch Melton, Colby Peters, Lance Ladd, Jason Ladd, Jos Spann, Tony Bennett and Rick McElhaney.
