Services for Teddy "Kent" Barton, 72, Oklahoma City, were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 5 at the Krien Chapel in Davis with Rev. Jim Hardoin officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur in charge of arrangements.
Born May 7, 1934 in Sulphur to Pleasant Albert and Goldie (Bulla) Barton, he died Thursday, June 1.
He grew up in Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School. His job at the Oklahoma Vending Company as a service technican required him to move to McAlester. He was later transferred to Ardmore then Oklahoma City where he remained. He worked for 30 years with the company, retiring after that time but continuing on a part-time basis until his death. He was an avid fisherman and horseracing fan.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah, of the home; three daughters, Alana Barton and Angela Barton, both of Garland, Texas and Jennifer Zilem, Yukon; one brother, P.A. Barton, Jr., Wynnewood; two sisters, Betty Smith, Davis and Priscilla Hembre, Sulphur and seven grandchildren, Josh and Ryan Robertson, Rachel, Ryan and Ashton Zilem and Tristyn Barton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Johnny Alan and Steven Alan Kent Barton.
Pallbearers were Dale Gall, Brad Barton, Monte Barton, Justin Piper, Geron Gill and Josh Woods. Chad Barton was an honorary bearer.
