Services for Goldie Barton, 87, Sulphur, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the New Life Tabernacle Church in Sulphur with Rev. Fred Bailey officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born November 16, 1917 in Bray to Cleede Bulla and Ruby Lakin Bulla, she died Saturday, Nov. 12 in Sulphur.
A foster grandparent for 23 years, she lived in this area most of her life. She attended Sulphur schools and, with her husband, operated a dry cleaners for over 40 years.
She married P.A. "Buck" Barton on April 15, 1933 in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1998. She was a member of the New Life Tabernacle Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Priscilla Hembree, Sulphur and Betty Smith, Davis; two sons, Kent Barton, Oklahoma City and P. A. Barton, Jr., Ardmore; two sisters, Muriel Dawson, Yukon and Elsie Conrad, Duncan; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Pallbearers were J. W. Jones, Charlie Hayslip, Matthew McDonald, Josh Wood, Larry Pearson and Jim Hardoin. Honorary bearers were Charles Ditzler and Chris Rumsey.
