Graveside services for Madge M. Barnett, 94, Ardmore, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. Brad Ransom officiating. Services were conducted under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Born March 3, 1911 in Hastings to Thomas Gipson Jones and Essie Christeen Robb Jones, she died Wednesday, Nov. 9 in Ardmore. She married Clyde H. Barnett on December 22, 1929 at Wynnewood. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1982.
She had lived in this area most of her life. She was a volunteer at INCA Community Services, a housewife and member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved cooking and taking care of her family, especially at family gatherings where she would show off her cooking skills. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning from her garden. She also loved to crochet and quilt.
Surviving are a daughter, Christeen McAnally, Farmington, N.M.; a sister, Gwen Hale, Wichita, Kan., a half-sister, Nona Sterling, Kansas; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Carl Barnett; four brothers; one sister and a half-brother.
