"EDNA 'RUTH' MATHEWS
Funeral services for Edna 'Ruth' MATHEWS, 80, of Davis were July 30 at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. James DENSMAN officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
She was born May 15, 1923 in Wynnewood to Lizzie Dee (EATON) and Thomas Ford MONTGOMERY and died July 29, 2003, at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore. She moved to Dougherty at an early age and attended Dougherty Schools. In 1955 , she married James Harvey MATHEWS in Oklahoma City,and he preceded her in death in 1994. She lived in several areas including Germany, England, Roswell and Alamogordo, N. M., before returning to Davis in 1997. Mrs. MATHEWS was a member and attended Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church. She was also a member of Progressive HCE and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a sister and two brothers."
She is survived by a son; a brother; a sister and brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. pallbearers were Wayne WEBB, Buddy JONES, Bo SAUNDERS, Ray CHAMBLESS, W. T. YOUNG and Leland STATE. Fox Funeral Home was in charbe of arrangements.
Green Hill Cemetery is in Davis, Murray County, Oklahoma..
