Services for Wanda LaRue Birch, 73, Del City, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 at the Del City Church of Christ with Jim Crain officiating. Interment was at 3:30 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born October 24, 1931 in Sulphur to George Samuel McGill and Leta Estelle Bland McGill, she died Saturday, Jan. 8 in Lewisville, Texas.
She grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School. She married Bob Birch in 1955 and lived in several areas before moving to Del City in the late 1950's. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1986. She was a member of the Del City Church of Christ, NARFE and AARP.
She is survived by a two sons and their wives, Kyle and Tammy Birch, Flower Mound, Texas and Kent and Donna Birch, Moore; a step-sister, Mary Ann Carmichael, Pearland, Texas and four grandchildren, Dallas, Bailey, Lacey and Marissa.
She was preceded in death by her father, George McGill; her mother, Leta McGill Reno; step-father, Richard W. Reno; brother, Carl Bland McGill and sister, Elvis Marie Lucas.
