GEORGE CAREY was born Oct. 25, 1929 at Stidham to Robert Alford and Mary Ethel (Henley) Carey and died at Eufaula on July 26, 2001. Services were July 30 at Stidham Baptist Church followed by burial at Lenna Cemetery under the direction of Black’s Shipman and Merritt Funeral Home.

Survivors include five sisters, Jewel Laman and husband Grayson, Hazel McIntosh and Mary Poearl Jordan all of Stidham, Carrie Lee Anderson of Altures, CA, Catie Lou Myers and husband Everett of Sparks, NV; a bbrother, William R. Carey and wife Lois of Stidham; a special friend, Joanie Dowling of Eufaula; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Opal Mae Carey and a brother, Robert Ray Carey.
