I found Mary Eva Wedel Eck buried in the New Hopedale Cemetery, Meno, OK - b. 8-6-1835, d. 4-2-1910. She is listed as the wife of Andrew. There is no Andrew buried there who died in 1893. This area (the Cherokee Strip) opened for settlement Sept. 16, 1893. If he died here then, there may be no record/stone, etc.

Land records - 1906 Woods Co. Standard Atlas:
Mary Eck W/2 of NE/4 of Section 2, Township 22 North, Range 10 West - about 3 miles north and 3 miles west of Meno. Andrew Eck - son? - had the E/2 of the NE/4 2-22-10.

There are no obituaries for Mary or Andrew Eck.

Mary Wedel Eck husband died in McPherson County, Kansas. Mary went also by MARIE Wedel . I have a obituary for her son Adam Eck and on some her other children. I have done alot of research on this family. I am Adam Eck family line. Mary or Maria Wedel parents were Benjamin Johann Wedel born 1796 Marienburg, Prussia his wife was Maria born 1800 they were married 1818. My grandmother told me Andreas (Andrew) Eck had died in Kansas. She told me this over 30 years ago. I have been working on family history for 34 years, since I was 17 years old. I went around with my grandmother to cemeteries and other family members and collected imformation on these families and done most research on my own. If I can be of any help let me know.

My husband descends from Andrew and Marie's daughter, Helena who married Henry RATZLAFF. In your research have you found the exact burial place of Andrew ECK? I would very much like to take a picture of his gravesite. I am guessing that he is buried at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Moundridge. Can you verify this?

I been told it was a unmarked grave. From a write up on Andreas son Ben the following:::

Ben could not make the "run"as it was necessary to stay in Kansas with his dying father. But he did come the next day and took the land that no one else wanted.

My grandmother told me he (Andreas) died in Kansas about the time of the Oklahoma land run. My grandmother was great-grandaughter, through Adam Eck
