Yes I could be mistakes. It was the oldest known son in 1937 and the youngest son in 1943 on the SS applications that both listed Jesse Holder and Lou Gallmore.
I know about the Lukenbill marriage. Another thing that makes us wonder - on the 1900 census for Jesse and Lucy with 6 children - Lucy is listed as born in Ind. Ter. (On 1880 census it is IN) - also on the 1900 census the first three children show father born in TN and mother born in Ind. Ter. The last 3 children show father born in TN and mother born in TN. Also the parent show length of marriage as 23 years - which would make about 1877. 23 years covers the birth times for all 6 children on the 1900 census - except the marriage record I found for Lucinda Massey and Jesse M. Holder shows a date of July 3, 1870 and Charlie Holder was born in 1874.
Maybe more errors or mistakes ---
But that with the birth date on the headstone maybe being a mistake at 1856 instead of 1850 and there is confusion galore on this family. See why I was hoping for an obituary!
