Graveside services for Martha Baxley McKinney, 81, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 20 at Fairview Cemetery, Denison, Texas, with Toastmaster Michael Goforth officiating.

Born September 29, 1927 in Mountain Home, the daughter of John and Kathryn Trout Ryan, she died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison.

Mrs. McKinney was an elementary teacher in Wilson and a realtor in Ardmore. She and Charles McKinney were married on March 25, 2000 in Sherman, Texas. Mrs. McKinney was a member of Texoma Toastmasters where she achieved the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster and served as area governor. She was an AARP defensive driving instructor for 20 years and a past member of Lakeside Dudes and Dolls square dancing club. Through her life she was a farmer, rancher, teacher, artist and author.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Bill White of Idabel and Jane Stanton of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Beth White of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dustin and Candace Stanton of Tulsa, and Holly and Jim Beardow of Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Baxley; and two sisters, Gene Jackson and Victoria Burden.
