Services for Harold Loyd Pierce, 76, of Wilson, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, in the Graham Assembly of God Church, Graham, with the Rev. Hurshel Baker officiating.
Mr. Pierce was born May 9, 1925, in Thackerville, the son of John and Sarah Edna "Smith" Pierce. He died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in Wilson.
Raised at Thackerville, Mr. Pierce worked in the oilfields. He and Evelyn Bertha Christian were married December 12, 1944,
in Ardmore. She preceded him in death May 26, 1988. He had lived in Wilson since her death.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Effie Pierce of Wilson; a daughter, Willie Ross-Collins of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; a sister, Willie Dugger of Gainesville, Texas; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pierce was also preceded in death by his parents and eight sisters and brothers.
Pallbearers were Effie Pierce, Ann Powell, David Childress, Joe Rushing, and Eugene and Clif Christian. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Coon Hunters Association, and Andy and Quinton Nipp.
Interment was in the Graham Cemetery, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
