Ida Inez Cox, daughter of Elizah and Rhoda Cox, was born in Pottawatomie Co., Kansas, on Jan. 30, 1874. In early childhood she moved with her parents to a farm near Crescent, Okla. Here she grew to womanhood. She united with the Christian Union Church at an early age of 17. In 1891 she was married to Washington C. Overstreet at Crescent, Okla. They resided near Crescent for sometime then moved to Kansas later near Fairmont then to the farm home near Waukomis. Living near Waukomis for over 30 years.
To this union were born 10 children, 9 of whom are living.
Four sons, Jessa A., of Dobbs Ferry N. York, Hiram C., Everett A. of Enid and George E. of the home. Five daughters, Grace Johnson and Mildred Krausse of Douglas, May Young of Enid, Ruth Marnane of Breckenridge and Freda Horstman of Bland, Mo. One daughter, Berniece Opal, died in infancy. She was buried in cemetery east of Crescent, Okla.
Her husband having passed away 8 years ago, Feb. 12, 1935.
She leaves the 9 children, 30 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren a sister, Mrs. Delcy Baker of Boise City, Okla., a host of other relataives and friends. Relatives resided in and around Crescent, Okla.
