Does anyone have any information about the years this train was in service and the exact route it traveled. I can remember it from my childhood and it seems that it made a run through some of the northern OK and southern KS cities in the morning, and the return trip along the same route in the evenings. I grew up in Blackwell and I still remember that whistle! There was no mistaking that sound and everyone knew the Doodle Bug was running through town when hearing that whistle. What great memories I have of that old train.
I would certainly love to know the history about it.
