My great grandfather is James Robert Rogers. He was born near Crab Orchard Ky. on Feb. 22, 1856. He married Mary (Molly) Susan Brock 8/20/85. Their children were Alice born 2/12/87, Bessie & Hubert (Both died at early age), Alpha born 2/92, Addie born 1894, Homer born 1896 and Birdie born 1899.
James Robert and family moved to Greer county in 1905. They settled near Reed. Later the moved north of Jester where Jim and Molly lived until their death. They are both buried in the Jester cemetary. Molly died 1934, Jim died 5/1939.
Homer is my grandfather.

Alpha Rogers Barton was my grandmother on my mom's side. She married Luther Hugo Barton, I am unsure of date. My mom was Freddie Louise Barton, youngest of 6 children. I believe they lived on a farm in Reed

You are the granddaughter of the "Aunt Alice" that was so close to my grandmother, Alpha Barton. And this is the same "Uncle Homer" that everyone spoke of. Thelma Mock is the only one of the 6 Barton children still alive, she lives in Azle. I am in frequent touch with her if you would like to ask her anything. She's almost 86, but still very bright!
