My father attended Oak Hill School in Minco, Oklahoma. According to his military record, he left school in 1936 and just went through 8th grade. Is anyone familiar with this school and can someone tell me how to get information about it? Thank you.

Oak Hill School was district 124. It was located west of Minco. I don't know exactly where the school was, but Oak Hill cemetery is 8 miles west of Minco on Hwy 37, then 3-1/2 miles south. I went out to Oak Hill Cemetery last year and there is nothing out there to indicate where a school may be located. Hardly any of the old country schools are left. Around Rush Springs some people took up a project to mark the sites of the old schools, but I haven't heard it they expanded it to the rest of the county.

Try the Minco Historical Society at http://members.cox.net/mincohistoricalsociety

The Minco Historical Society has some people familiar with those who attended Oak Hill.
