If you will go to OKGenWeb site, to Garvin county, then scroll down to Cemeteries in Garvin county online. I found a lot of Carter and Gower family in the Maysville cemetery. I only found Towry in the Antioch cemetery. I don't know where the Simon cemetery is? If you need obituaries for any of these people, just let me know.

I am looking for information about Thomas H. Stephens, who died in Ok, Oct 1906.
His wife's family was Mary Ann Sims Brinlee. One of her sons died while an infant and is buried in ClabberFlat Cemetery.
Is there a way for me to check if Thomas H. could be buried in that cemetery, also?
Thank you for any help

I am interested in your family name, Stephens. I have Stephens relatives who lived, died and buried in Garvin Co., OK. My grandfather was Wm. Henry Stephens--born 1872, Jackson Co., KY- died 1944, buried in Paoli Cemetery. Uncles were Odell Stephens, Roy C. Stephens, Silas Stephens, Milton Andrew Stephens, Thomas A. Stephens. Three Aunts: Minnie Stephens Anderson, Toye Stephens Hughes and Stanley Stephens Briggs. All are deceased except Toye Hughes. I am sure there were other family members in the county, but I have no information about them. Would like to hear from you. Geneva, in Texas

I would be tickled to death if I could trace Thomas Holmes Stephens. None of the names you mentioned rang any bells with me. Unfortunately, Thomas is the only Stephens name I have. No one in the family has any idea who his family were, or where he came from. His birthdate is Jan 4, 1867.
He married Laura Jane Sims in Aug 1888, in Texas.
any info you may have, that could help me trace this man would be very appreciated.
Thanks, Cindy

My Stephens were in Jackson County, KY. Several migrated to Johnson County, TX--around Joshua and Godley (I think those are the names that my mother gave me years ago). I know that some Stephens were in Kentucky Town, Texas. This area was in Fannin County, TX (I think)--many people from KY settled in this area, hence the name Kentucky Town. I have seen a book that was published about Kentucky Town, TX---a lady in KY owned it. My grandfather had a brother, Lewis Stephens, whom I have tried to locate--there were three boys in his family: Andrew (I have this brother's information),Wm. Henry( my grandfather) and Lewis. Lewis was born about 1864/1865. Have you tried the 1880 Soundex--Checking for only Texas residences? I will keep the name handy, and if I ever run across anything, I will share. Thanks. Geneva

Cindy,
Does your Collins line include Joe Collins who married "Doty" Towry. Joe and Doty had three children, M. L. "Pud", Jackie, & Geneva. I am interested in the Towry line. Joe and Doty were my mother-in-law's aunt and uncle.

I do not have those names in my database, but they could still belong. My great-uncle John C. Collins had two sons, Wm. B. Collin, b. abt 1905 and Richard Collins, b. abt 1918 in Garvin Co., OK. A family story relates that Richard lived in Paul'sValley and served on the police force. I assume these two males married and could have descendants in Garvin County, OK.-- My research just hasn't yielded their family history, yet. What I have on my family names has mostly all been from Kentucky--especially Jackson Co. and nearby counties. Sorry, I couldn't help more. Geneva

Joe and Doty had their oldest son in Garvin County in 1917. He is still living and I can ask him. I don't know much about his Collins relatives.
