I would like to talk to anyone with Duncan/Dunkin ancestors from Garvin co, OK. My grandmother's family settled there. They spelled their names both ways. Most of the family lived around Wynnewood, but I don't know a lot about them yet, so I would enoy talking to anyone who has information. Thank you!

possible Duncans

I have Duncans from close to that area. My grandpa grew up in Wewoka which is in Seminole County (relatively close to Garvin) If any of these names sound familiar, let me know;
Daniel D., Charles Wesley, Doyl Aldrith, Noel, Lola Duncan.

I am very sorry, but I can't connect the names just yet. I have emails out to family to see if any of them knows of them. Good luck in your search! If I find more, I will post another message.

Lisa,

If they are near Wynnewood, or in Garvin county, chances are they are relatives. I would welcome any chance to talk to you! Email me at pbh@dallas.net any time.

Peggy,
I know it has been two years since your message, and I only hope this gets to you.
My grandmother (Rosie Lee Dunkin Shackleford) was the oldest (that lived) Dunkin girl born to J.H. Dunkin & Caroline (Edwards). Grandma was born in 1902 near Millerton and the Wheelock Mission in S.E. OK. I don't know when J.H. Dunkin moved the family to Wynnewood, but they have been there many years. My dad was born a short distance from the family farm.

We have a family reunion out east of Wynnewood every summer. There are only a few of my grandmother's siblings living now. Who is your grandmother?

Keith,

Please respond to my new email at pbh@dallas.net and we can talk more. I think we have lots to discuss. I am very happy to find you! My grandmother's name was "Eva" Evalena Elizabeth Duncan who married "Jim" James Lee Lewis. Her father Bill was brother to J.H. Dunkin, Bill died early leaving 2 girls who he left with his brother as his wife had died earlier. My grandmother's sister was Bertha Duncan "Aunt Bird" to most, who married an Edwards. I will look forward to hearing from you.

Carl, In my search for Orrs saw your posting. I have recently tracked my Ggrandfather Hugh Edward Orr who lived in Washington County, GA at one time. I have found he and some members of his family(not known to me) also lived in Texas. His Uncle, William L. Orr did also. I have noticed the name Carl in our line before. Do you know your birth father or anything about your Orrs. There may be a possibility we are related in some way and if so would like to help you with information if there is a link. Sincerely, Eva Orr Mullins
