Lou Sinda and John Grinstead lived close to the county line of Ellis, Dewey and Woodruff Counties in the early 1900's; a patent record was dated 16 December 1912 for the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 2 in Township Eighteen North of Range Twent-Two West of the Indian Meridian, OK. John Grinstead died in 1928 in Wichita KS but Lou Sinda lived until August 26, 1943 and passed away in Vici Township, Dewey County, OK. The Grinsteads had four living children: Alice (Allie May) who married Pearl Bisby); William Arthur (went by Arthur) who married Mary Malloy; Ida (who married Willie Williams and Harvey Wheeler) and Otte (who resided in Plant City, FL). John and Lou were my husband's great grandparents and Allie May and Pearl Bisby were his grand parents. If any one has any further information on John Grinstead, Lou Sinda Grinstead or any of their children, please contact me. Lou Sinda was rumored to be Cherokee Indian. I would appreciate any information that you may have.
