Earnest/Ernest Granville and Laura Bell McBride lived in Sand Springs in the 1920's. Family oral account says Earnest was a sheriff in Sand Springs for some period of time. (He may have been a deputy sheriff.) There is a picture of him with what appears to be a sheriff/deputy-sheriff's badge.

How might I go about confirming (or correcting) that claim?
