The Red Cross met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. J.D. Goodson. There was quite a number present. We welcome two new members, that being George Check and Everette Check, making in all 112 members.
Mrs. J.D. Goodson informed us that her son, Alph, who is at Camp Pike, Arkansas, is in the hospital with mumps.
J.D. Goodson and son Ralph were transacting business at the county seat Thursday.
The West Point Red Cross ladies gave Mrs. Claud Mitchell a surprise dinner Thursday, February 14. Those present were Mrs. C.A. Tyler, Mrs. Ben Sanders, Mrs. Enoch Southerland, Mrs. J.D. Goodson, Mrs. J. Van Akron and baby, Mrs. G.W. Mitchell and Daughter, Miss Beulah, Mrs. J. Lee and daughter, Miss Grace, Mrs. G. Pitchford, Mr. Homer Andrews and sons, Homer, Jr., and George Wayne, and Mrs. T.D. Davidson. All spent an enjoyable day with Mrs. Mitchell, some knitting for the soldiers. Mrs. Claud Mitchell was chairman of our Red Cross, and we all are sorry to lose her. Mrs. Viola Chamberlain was appointed to fill her place.
Those that took dinner with J. Lee and family Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Goodson, Clarence Abbott and Ralph Goodson.
