Arthur J. WILLIAMS was born abt 1877 in Wisconsin and his parents were both born in Wales. He wed a Carolyn M. who was born about 1878 in Illinois. I am speculating that this Carolyn could be my brick wall cousin, Carrie Maria HILL born to John W. HILL and Elizabeth Sleeman VIVIAN in Oct 1878 in probably Bureau Co, Illinois. All that is known about Carrie is that she wed a "Mr. Williams" -- we have no idea what State she moved to--most of the family went to California. By 1900 her mother was deceased and she was living with her father, the Rev. John Hill (probably a Methodist minister) in Cook Co.
In 1910 Arthur J and his wife Carolyn and 2 daughters (who appear to die young--Alice and Katherine) are living in Cook Co., Illinois. In 1920 the family has moved to Norman, Cleveland Co., OK where Arthur is a University professor and they have 1 son Norman Frances born abt 1917 in OK. On the 1930 Norman, OK census they have a 2nd son, Sidney E. born abt 1920 in OK.
Seek to contact descendants of Sidney or Norman to discuss maiden name of this Carolyn.

This was VERY helpful--while not yet proof positive--I'm pretty sure this is my family's Caroline "Carrie" Marie HILL, the daughter of a Methodist minister!
