ADA NOLAND
Services for Ada Noland, 78, who died Friday at the Baptist Burn Center in Oklahoma City, will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday in Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Palesano officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery.
Mrs. Noland, a double amputee and a resident of Friendship Manor, received severe burns June 6 when she dropped a cigarette into her apron. Although a nurse was in attendance, she suffered third-degree burns over 60 percent of her body before the fire could be extinguished.
She was born March 11, 1900 in Missouri. Mrs. Noland is survived by one daughter, Martha Shirey of Fillmore; one brother, Patrick H. Noland, Hobbs, New Mexico; one sister, Myrtle Thomas of Anadarko; four grandchildren she reared, Ruby Woodruff of Fillmore, Mickey Noland of McLoud, Billy Noland of Ardmore and Jo Anne Pierce of Tishomingo; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
