FIRE KILLS CITY MAN, RAZES TRAILER HOUSE; THREE HOMES BURNED

An Anadarko man burned to death, a trailer house and frame home were destroyed and two more houses damaged in a wind-fanned fire in a residential block here before dawn.

Chester Arthur Noland, 35, occupant of a trailer house in the 300 block of East Georgia, was trapped and burned to death in the fire which began about 3 a.m.

A home on the same lot, at 307 E. Georgia, occupied by his mother, Mrs. Ada Noland, and his grandmother, Mrs. Sam Noland, was destroyed.

Firemen said the two women were awakened by the barking of a pet dog in time to escape. Fire Chief Loyd Lockert said the fire begain in Noland's trailer house, cause of the blaze, however, was not determined.

Services for Noland, living alone in the trailer, will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Anadarko Funeral Home. Acting Coroner Ed Moran said an inquest will be held at 4:30 p.m. today.

Noland was born August 19, 1916 in Anadarko and was employed by the Western Electric Cooperative here. He was a veteran of World War II.

In addition to his mother and grandmother, Noland is survived by a son, Billy Joe Noland, and two daughters, Ruby Mae Noland and Mickey Noland all of Anadarko.

Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery
