Hello-

I seek to find birthplaces and/or parents' names of this couple (Joseph b. 12 Jul 1811 in Massachusetts; Sophronia b. 13 Apr 1819 in New York), whose marriage certificate was filed in Cuyahoga Co, OH in 1838. They appear in Bainbridge Township, Geauga County, OH census records in the 1840, 1850, and 1860. Sophronia died in the mid-1860s.

Joseph married two subsequent times and moved first to Fremont, IN, then to Branch County, MI. He died in IN, but because he owned land in MI, his probate record was filed there. He willed that his body be interred in the "new" cemetery in Bainbridge, OH. He also willed that his wife's body (plus two children's bodies) be moved from the "old" cemetery in Bainbridge to the new one, for which he had already paid.
