I have a 89 year old Aunt that would like to know if Sue Diss is still alive,if so she like her address so Sally could write to her. My Aunt Sally Evans(maiden name) told me today that she would like to know about her.Sue was the daughter of Dewey Diss .Sally thinks she married a minister in vandocia if anyone knows her or anything about her we would like to hear from you. don't know if this information will be any help. My Grandma's (Edith Williams-Ayers) aunt was Emma Evans. Dewey Diss lived with Emma Evans in 1930 Census, they were cousins. My Mom remembers Dewey living with Emma but she never knew that he was married. Sarah Evans-Williams b:1877-d:10/19/1920 was my GG Grandmother & Emma Evans b:1879 were sisters. There other simblings were...Mary Evans b:1874, Evan Evans b:1876 & Oscar Evans b: 1884. I have no idea who Dewey's parents were. If he was Emma's cousin then it would have to be Mary Evans. Emma was never married. I have information on Mary's Father & Grandfather if you would want it.

Don't pay any attention of Dewey being one of Emma's Sisters child, it would be one of Emma's father or mother's siblings. Her father's name was John Evans b:1891. His siblings were David b:1850, Margaret b:1864 & Mary b:1866. I don't have much information on Jane b:1852 her mother. John's parents were Evan Evans b:1824 & Sarah b:1823.

Dewey Diss did marry but I do not know her name & my Aunt has passed away.She told me that Dewey was the son of Mary Evans & Amos Diss. Mary was Sarah Jane's sister.Their maiden name was Evans.When Mary died John & Sarah took Dewey & raised him.Dewey had one brother that I know of his name was John & he was raised by Elizabeth & David Davis. Elizabeth was Sarah & Marys sister.My sister has a letter writen by Dewey telling of being taken in by John & Sarah.I have information on both Evans' families if the party responding to my post would get back with me.My Grandfather was John & Sarahs son Evan.By the way both Evan & John married women named Sarah.

Thank You so much for the info. Was Sarah Jane's maiden name Evans too? I know she married John Evans. They had a daughter Mary Evans b:1874. I'm stumped on John Evan's parents . I thought it was Evan Evans b: 1824 & Sarah b:1825. Do you have any information on them? There are so many Sarah's Evan's & John's that it really gets confusing. Evan Evans b.btw. 1820 & 1824 in Wales.D. 31 Jan 1894 in Jennings twp Van wert Co.Oh.
Married Sarah ? She was also from Wales.
Their children were
Davis( not David)I.Evans b. 14 Jan 1850 Oh.Married a Anne ?They had one son David Evans
Davis died 26 Feb.1886
Margaret (Polly)Evans b.Aug.1864 Oh. d. 13 May 1883 VanWert Co.
*****Davis,David& Margaret all share the same tombstone in the Horeb cemetery.
John E.Evans b. 18 Feb 1852 Oh. d.6 Feb.1922.He married Sarah Jane Evans.Their marriage is recorded in the VanWert Marriage book no.4 on pg.57.They married in latter part of 1872.
Jane Evans b.abt. 1867. She is listed in 1880 census as deaf,Blind & Dumb,Otherwise disabled. Her death unknown.May have died at a early age as am unable to find anymore on her.

I see that your maiden name is Diss. Do you know of the family website? www.dissfamilytree.co.uk All Disses are apparently descended from William and Judith Diss in Halstead in the mid-18th century and their 10 offspring.

The Diss family wasn't connected to my (Evans) family.My great grandmother raised her nephew when her sister died.The sister was married to a Diss.Dewey Diss was Sue's father & he was raised by the Evans family as one of their own.
